 Oh, the '90s – the decade of the boy and girl band. The Backstreet Boys, N'SYNC, Hanson, 98 Degrees, the Spice Girls and LFO all had their heyday but seemingly vanished shortly after the new millennium began. Justin Timberlake and Nick Lachey left N'SYNC and 98 Degrees in the dust of their respective solo careers. Backstreet was no longer back, Hanson didn't have anywhere to go after their one hit single "MMMBop," fell off the charts and LFO went downhill after their first CD. The Spice Girls, once in a league of their own, faltered after the departure of fiery red-head Ginger. Now, seven years into the new millennium, many of these bands are attempting a comeback in the harsh music industry.

The pit bull mix belonging to former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is on her way back to California to be reunited with her owner. The dog was left in one of the agency's night drop cages Aug. 26. Officials identified Layla using a microchip in the dog's neck. "She was a pleasure while she was here," said county Animal Services manager Liana Teague. Just how Layla ended up in Hernando remains a mystery. Carter's publicist has said the dog was with family members while Carter traveled. |

| It's a safe bet that Backstreet Boy Nick Carter will avoid asking his mother, Jane Carter, to pet sit for him again any time soon. Nick enlisted mom to look after his pit-bull mix, Layla, while he prepares for the upcoming Backstreet Boys reunion tour, and even paid her for the dog's upkeep, according to TMZ.com. But instead of cuddling up to her grand-dog, the Backstreet mom opted to leave the pooch at a North Tampa animal shelter. Carter family acquaintance Ranelle Black had rescued the dog from an L.A. County animal shelter last year and then passed her along to Nick. TMZ reports that Black was alerted to Layla's latest stint in doggy jail after staff at the Florida shelter located the animal's microchip. Nick reportedly had spent thousands to have the dog trained and was "very choked up" over what his mother had done. source: Denver Post |

Friday, August 31, 2007 - Jane Carter called the MJ Morning Show to slam our story from Wednesday as "baloney," claiming that she gave Layla, a pit bull mix, to a "friend of her husband" to keep at his kennel. Then, she says, the dog escaped from the kennel, though this kennel-owner "friend" apparently didn't notice the dog was gone until animal services picked it up and took it to the shelter in Hernando County. Nick Carter's mom, Jane, tried to explain how her son's beloved pit bull ended up in a shelter -- but the credibility of her excuse is just slightly less believable than "The dog ate my homework."  Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough – a.k.a. the Backstreet Boys – causing a bit of a frenzy as they lunched together at Tra di Noi, an Italian eatery in Malibu. Even as the guys tried to enjoy their paninis, pasta dishes and pizza inside, photographers and fans gathered outside of the restaurant eager to snap their pictures. Hernando County, FL -- A pooch that belongs to a member of a boy band disappeared but has been found. Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys lost his pit bull mix, Layla. Hernando County Animal Services says someone anonymously dropped off the dog earlier this week. A micro-chip traced the dog back to someone in Los Angeles whom Nick adopted the dog from. Now animal services is trying to find out where the dog should go next. Animal services asks the public not to call them to adopt the dog, or stop by there to see the dog. source: Tampabays.Com |

 Everyone remembers pop music of the ’90s, New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, Nsync, 98 Degrees, Lyte Funky Ones (LFO), O-town, C-Note, Westlife, and the list goes on and on. What do all of these groups have in common, they’re all boybands! Of all of these groups created mostly by Lou Pearlman- The Backstreet Boys is the only group that is in tact. Many artists that composed the other groups are still in the music business, but they have all gone their separate ways.

 The Backstreet Boys -- minus Kevin -- all met for lunch at Malibu Country Mart yesterday. Tell me why!The group recently released a single and is working on a new album -- just don't call it a comeback! Both Nick and AJ were quick to correct TMZ when we asked about the so-called "reunion," with AJ saying they never broke up and "just took a little nap time." Nick also told our cameras he's working on getting his dog back, after his mother unloaded his pit bull at an animal shelter without his permission. So why no Kevin Richardson at the boy band buffet? As you may all well know, the Backstreet Boys have two official websites. One is run by Musictoday and the other is run by Zomba Recording Company. And I'm speaking of the latter. You may now check on this site, thebackstreetboys.com. There are lots of things you can find there including a new gorgeous pic of Nick Carter, BSB Wallpapers and buddy icons plus their music and videos. Be updated on their upcoming events and tours. You can also register an account to access the Forums and vote on the polls. Enjoy! The only problem that you might experience though is its technical glitches, meaning you may access the site now and then you may not. Just keep on refreshing it and you'll enjoy the feeling of being a Backstreet fan. =) |
