By now you've probably had the opportunity to see "House of Carters" on E! If not, then you've heard about it, right? It seems Nick & Aaron have been all over the place promoting the show and clips have been shown all over TV. Now the Carter sisters are also thrown into the spotlight, like many reality TV stars before them. StarShine spoke to Bobbie Jean Carter recently, better known to her family and friends as BJ. We had the chance to pick her brain a little and we like what we came up with!

Carters put before the horses!

LA party boys Nick and Aaron Carter will in Melbourne for Cup Week. The singers-turned-reality TV stars will arrive in town on November 3 and will be in the thick of the action in the Flemington Birdcage on Derby and Cup days. The brothers found fame as singers -- Nick with The Backstreet Boys and Aaron as a solo performer.

Now they are better known for their tumultuous dating adventures.

Nick, 26, had a rocky romance with socialite Paris Hilton -- they fought often and made up equally as often during their seven months together. She ended up dumping him after consulting a psychic.

Aaron broke off his engagement to former Playboy model Kari Ann Peniche last month, only a week after he proposed in Las Vegas.

Keeping it in the family, Peniche had dated Nick.

"I got caught up in the moment and proposed," Aaron, 18, said of his short-lived engagement."

"I then realised it was a hasty thing to do and I am not ready for marriage quite yet."

The brothers are in Australia for the launch of their reality series House of Carters on the E! Entertainment channel.

Nick, 26, has his own wounds to lick - rehab, the breakup with Paris Hilton. But familial anger and suspicion to some degree seem to have poisoned everyone: brother Aaron, 18 (who was engaged to a Playboy model for about five seconds before the show's debut), and sisters Angel, 18, Leslie, 20 and BJ, 24. They're all acting for the cameras. They're also acting out: drinking, squabbling, crying, yelling up and down halls, in and out of bedrooms, showing general dysfunctional unpleastantness. Simpson Slams Carter Cheating Claims!

Pop star ASHLEE SIMPSON has slammed NICK CARTER's claims they slept together while the BACKSTREET BOY was still dating socialite PARIS HILTON. Carter told PageSix.com on Sunday (01OCT06) that he had a brief affair with Simpson after he heard rumours Hilton was cheating on him with her HOUSE OF WAX co-star CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY on set in Australia. The I WANT IT THAT WAY hitmaker and Hilton dated for eight months before splitting in July 2004 - the same month Murray announced his engagement to his ONE TREE HILL co-star SOPHIA BUSH after proposing Down Under. Carter said, "I hooked up with Ashlee Simpson. When Paris came back from Australia, they talked to each other and she found out about it." + The House of Carter's will be airing at our local cable provider (specifically Sky and Home Cable Subscribers). But I still need to call them up and kick their butts for them to give me exact date and time of HOC. Well, Shows from E! are delayed for almost a day or a week (maybe). But stay tuned, I'll do my best to catch up on them and let you guys know when can we watch the series. There's a lot of new shows coming up so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one of them will be House of Carter's.

Moving on now to what might possibly be the most fascinating family reality show since the Osbournes.

Are you ready for the "House of Carters," featuring Nick and Aaron Carter? Well, let me tell you, they've been making some big headlines over the past week.

And Nick, formerly of the Backstreet Boys, has just claimed he lost his virginity to Debra Lafave, the infamous Florida school teacher convicted of having sex with her teenage student. And heartthrob Aaron Carter got engaged to Nick's former girlfriend, a "Playboy" playmate, and then broke it off a week later.

And he's shaking his head no. So we'll find out about that.

Did we mention them fighting over dating Paris Hilton? Take a look at this.

NICK CARTER, "HOUSE OF CARTERS": Why I don't trust my brother? Why he doesn't respect me? I'm going to tell you why. Because when I broke up with Paris, this guy takes her out, gets her (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

The next day I find her on the phone in the car. And who is it? It's his phone taking a picture of her. Her!

HAMMER: All right. That quiet little scene is from the new E! reality show "House of Carters." And look who's here, Aaron and Nick Carter.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Thanks for having us.

HAMMER: Nice to see you.

What the heck was going on there?

N. CARTER: Brotherly love. Brother love.

A. CARTER: Yes, that's how we express our emotions.

N. CARTER: Yes.

HAMMER: I'm sad for both of you right now. Is that -- is that pretty -- does that pretty much exemplify what is going on in this show? I mean, that's a little dysfunctional if it's love.

N. CARTER: It kind of sums it up. Well, you know, the funny -- it is. Our family life has always been dysfunctional. But the idea is to fix that, to communicate better, to have a -- to work towards a normal family. And that's what we're trying to do in this show.

A. CARTER: I think we're doing a good job.

N. CARTER: We definitely -- we've -- I mean, we reconcile and we've gotten the things out that, you know, that I didn't know about. And we're good now. We're great.

HAMMER: Well, by way of background, you guys have had a rough time of it over the years despite your individual successes.

I mean, you, of course, were a massive superstar with the Backstreet Boys. Now you're at a bit of a crossroads in your life and have had some sordid family history.

And I know, Aaron, that you at one point had tried to emancipate yourself from your mother, and then the whole thing that we just talked about, I mentioned the idea that you were engaged to and broke it off with Nick's former girlfriend.

A. CARTER: It was never his girlfriend. I promise you that.

HAMMER: OK. Setting the record straight.

(CROSSTALK)

A. CARTER: There was something, but it wasn't ever a girlfriend situation. No. But I didn't find out until after -- after the case.

HAMMER: OK. So it was all innocent.

A. CARTER: Yes.

HAMMER: You would never have stepped on his toes if you knew they had actually been dating?

N. CARTER: No.

HAMMER: Let me ask you guys this, because I'm always curious when I see these family reality shows. And pretty much ever since "The Osbournes," I have wondered, especially when there's so much personal stuff involved, why put it out there for the world to see?

N. CARTER: Well, in this particular case, you know, I thought about the same thing. And I thought, you know, well, we're -- we are a family who grew up in the spotlight and pretty much a business family, a music business family.

And our family had kind of been destroyed from it, from the business, just separated. And obviously we had our problems with our mother and father in the past, too. But this will give us an opportunity to -- and maybe other people -- to look at us and maybe relate in some ways and say, hey, we're not that bad, either. You know? And we're working towards fixing our family because I think all problems stem from the families.

HAMMER: Yes. And money and fame doesn't buy you all the happiness.

I have to ask you this, because I get home and flip on the Howard Stern radio program and I hear you reveal to the world that at the age of 15, you lost your virginity to the woman who is now known as Debra Lafave, who had a sexual relationship with a teenage student. I hear that, I hear that you're engaged to -- and breaking off a relationship with a "Playboy" playmate within just a week.

A lot of people might say, oh, here they have a new TV show coming on. Big publicity stunt.

N. CARTER: Right. Right. Right.

Well, you know, the way that we respond to that is that our lives have always been followed, you know, no matter what we were doing, even when we weren't trying to, you know, be out there and do stuff. There was always, like, tabloid stuff on our mother, stuff on him, stuff on me.

A. CARTER: But we were never -- we were never putting any of this stuff out. We were trying to avoid it, always.

HAMMER: And now you're -- and now, as long as they're going to follow you, let's just put it all out there.

A. CARTER: Exactly. Exactly.

HAMMER: All right. Fair enough.

N. CARTER: Hey, you want it, you got it.

A. CARTER: You got it.

HAMMER: Nick and Aaron Carter, I appreciate you joining us tonight.

N. CARTER: No problem.

HAMMER: Thanks very much.

Their new show is called "House of Carters". It premiers Monday night on E! for an hour.

Nick: How I Got Back At Paris



September 30, 2006 -- NICK Carter says he decided to fight fire with fire when he learned that Paris Hilton was rampantly cheating on him with Sophia Bush's fiancé, Chad Michael Murray - so he waited until she jetted off to Australia and then jumped into bed with Ashlee Simpson.

The former Backstreet Boy revealed his revenge tactic when he and his kid brother Aaron visited Page Six yesterday to promote their E! show, "House of Carters," on their way to an Us Weekly luncheon.

"I'd fallen head over heels with this chick. Then, all of a sudden, three months go by and I got people telling me, 'Nick, you know what Paris is doing to you,' and I got a little upset," Carter related. "So then I just decided to fight back a little bit and started doing my own thing again. The result is I hooked up with Ashlee Simpson. When Paris came back from Australia, they talked to each other and she found out about it.

"So I brought it up to her and said, 'You know what I did, and now it's your turn. Why don't you tell me what you did.' And she goes, 'I never did anything! I never cheated on you.' I had kind of started to really like Ashlee and I was thinking about the dating stage, then, before you know it [bleep]ing bitch-face comes back."

Carter, 26, told us he has no regrets, but still has a bitter taste in his mouth about Hilton. "I got so burnt over that whole Paris [bleep] with all this swinging and switching. Whatever happened to morals and values?" asked Nick, who's now working on a highly anticipated Backstreet Boys reunion album: "We've done about half of it so far." Meanwhile, Aaron, 19, who has a new album due in February, says his own shotgun engagement last year to Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche, who'd previously dated Nick, failed because he just wasn't ready to settle down. "It was just a big mess. She was pretty upset, but I just realized I made a mistake," he said.

And it wasn't a cheap mistake. While he never got her an engagement ring, "I bought her earrings for $10,000," Aaron confided. "And I need to get 'em, back. I need to get 'em back!" Good luck with that.

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter: My First Love Was Debra LaFave

Backstreet Boy and House of Carters star Nick Carter confessed to Us Weekly on Friday that his first serious relationship was with infamous school teacher Debra Beasley LaFave. The pair met when they were teenagers living in Ruskin, Florida, near Tampa.

"I met her in church," Carter tells Us exclusively. “I was 15 and she was 14. It was my first relationship and I lost my virginity to her. I was head over heels for her and I loved the hell out of her."

LaFave later became an eighth grade reading teacher at Greco Middle School in Temple Terrance, Florida. In 2004, LaFave was arrested at the home of a student, accused of having sex with him at her apartment, in her car, and in her classroom. She was 23 at the time and the victim was 14.

Carter and LaFave’s relationship ended in the mid-90s after LaFave began a Sapphic relationship and two-timed the up-and-coming singer. “When I left to go on tour with the Backstreet Boys, I came back home and I heard she had cheated on me with a girl while I was on the road. That is why we broke up. I wanted to get back together with her until this child/teacher stuff happened."

Carter, 26, admits that while he’d always held a torch for his ex, the schoolhouse scandal ruined any chance of a reconciliation.

“I always thought I wanted to go back and rekindle it with her, but now it’s too late for that."
