Brian Littrell's debut solo album is called Welcome Home, and the Backstreet Boy is bringing it home next week in his first Lexington concert as a solo artist.

"I'd deal with being in the Tokyo Dome in front of 55,000 people better than being at Immanuel Baptist, when it comes to a nervous standpoint," Littrell says, with a laugh. "I'm always a little nervous, but playing in front of your peers and smaller audiences is a little more intimidating."

Less than a month away from his Orlando wedding to longtime sweetheart Leigh Boniello, Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough enlisted his brother, Johnny, bandmate AJ McLean and a crew of friends to throw him one last bash in Las Vegas.

“My brother just got married about a month and a half ago and I did his bachelor party maybe two months before that so I kind of got a little of an idea what I’m kind of in store for," Howie explained to OK!. "But he’s got a bit more rowdier friends than mine. I’m excited about it. It’s an American tradition. It seems like Vegas is the ultimate place to have a bachelor party.”

According to official data, the amount released in Japan is more than 250 thousand, and its actual sales is more than 202,440 up until November 19. Choice Cut: ''Inconsolable,'' ''Any Other Way,'' ''Panic,'' ''Treat Me Right''
Who could forget the heydays where vocal harmonies were all the rage? Much as the Backstreet Boys epitomize the term "boy band" that belongs to a period long forgotten, one can't deny that the group can belt out those saccharine harmonies like nobody's business.

Perhaps that's why the group chose to open their sixth studio album Unbreakable with a one minute a-cappella "Intro," just to remind you what they really are. Forget about the silly synchronized dance moves or the whole passé connotations of being in a boy band, when it comes to music for mass consumption, the Backstreet Boys are still quite the giants of pop, despite having slimmed down to four with the departure of Kevin Richardson.

And on Unbreakable, one can expect nothing less but various power ballads ("Inconsolable," "Something That I Already Know," "Helpless When She Smiles," "Trouble Is") that have gone through the unmistakable Backstreet Boys treatment of massive choruses and heartrending sing-alongs, with a little bit of pop-rock thrown in. On the other end of the sonic spectrum are the dancier moments on "Everything But Mine," "Any Other Way" and "Panic" that break up the serenading croons. While they are not as "fierce" as compared to their predecessors like "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" and "Larger Than Life," the mid-tempo "Treat Me Right" that once again showcases the group's harmonizing abilities is no doubt one of the highlights on the album.

In all fairness, the sound on Unbreakable is nothing sort of groundbreaking or forward but it does deliver the goods -- a good hearty dose of mainstream, radio friendly pop tunes, something of which the Backstreet Boys are really good at.

Once upon a time, preteen pop-music fans were divided into two opposing camps: Backstreet Boys fans and ’N Sync fans. Well, we can consider the recent release of the Backstreet Boys’ Unbreakable to be a victory for the “BSB 4eva!” crowd. Though ’N Sync disbanded years ago, the Backstreet Boys are still churning out perfectly good pop music—nothing more, nothing less. Although the group is down one member (Kevin Richardson left in 2006), the Backstreet Boys still offer enough multi-layered harmonies and cheesy lyrics to please anyone with a sense of late-’90s nostalgia. For loyal BSB fans (yes, they do exist), Unbreakable marks a refreshing return to the Backstreet Boys’ roots after 2005’s guitar-driven Never Gone. The upbeat “Everything But Mine” sounds like it could have come straight off the massively successful Millenium (1999), as does “One in a Million.” But the group has also made concessions to current trends in adult contemporary music. While songs like “Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon” and “Helpless When She Smiles” are sweet and easy to listen to, they’re much less glossy than the music you loved (or hated) back in middle school. This album certainly has some missteps—”Trouble Is,” for example, would make more sense on a pop-country album than on a Backstreet Boys album. But the Backstreet Boys have managed to put together a decent album of their signature, sugarcoated pop music, despite a pop-music landscape that doesn’t really have room for them anymore. Despite the fact that they almost hit the age of 30, the Backstreet Boys decided that they can still be around in a group with the word "boy" in the name and recently released their sixth album -- "Unbreakable."

Unfortunately, this time there are only four of them instead of five. Kevin Richardson, who, at 36, hasn't been a boy in the backstreets or anywhere else for a long time, has left the band to "pursue other interests."

However, although the band is not a quintet anymore, their new album is near the top of the Billboard 200 charts.

"We've been so blessed to have so many fans worldwide that are still keeping us around," said bandmember Howie Dorough, who is getting married next month.

While it's true that they're chronologically older and 10 years have passed after the heyday of their genre, the group is essentially still pumping out the same kind of music they always have.

"This time around, we made a conscious decision to go back to what people know us best for, which is our live entertaining shows, vocal harmonies, good, easy pop listening songs, up-tempo songs," said Dorough.

BACKSTREET BOYS star AJ MCLEAN once buried a $40,000 (GBP20,000) gift with his dead grandmother - only to be asked for it to be returned. The singer accepted the gift from a female fan he was romancing, but found there were complications when mixing business with pleasure. He says, "When you're 17 or 18 and girls twice your age are after you, you're like, 'Woohoo!' so of course we went with it. "I had a shameful incident though. A girl gave me her parents' wedding rings worth $40,000 (GBP20,000) as a present, so I gave them to my grandmother who died and took them to the grave. The girl wanted them back, but I was like, 'They're in the ground...'"

We’ll resist the temptation to use the “Backstreet’s Back” headline that’s popping up all over in response to the news that the Backstreet Boys‘ album Unbreakable debuted at number seven on the charts today. In honor of the new release, we posed six questions to former Paris Hilton guy-pal, reality-TV star and Dolphin ambassador Nick Carter. He admitted to some mild hotel-room destruction and revealed he’s a Smashing Pumpkins fan.

What’s the most rock-star thing you’ve ever done?
“I remember I was having this party in my hotel room and it required me to have candles laying all over the place. And I had them all in a circle in this room and I didn’t realize, ‘Oh that’s right, these candles bleed.’ So they bled into the carpet and then they bled into the TV and I caused like $5,000 damage in this one hotel and they still won’t let me go there to this day.”

What was your favorite album when you were fourteen?
“I used to love E 1999 Eternal by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.”

Do you regret doing your reality show, House of Carters?
“No, because it helped me realize that I had some problems and I needed to fix them — personally, mentally and physically.”

What’s on your current playlist?
“I listen to a mixture of stuff. I’ve got the new Smashing Pumpkins album which I’m in love with. I think it’s the most amazing thing. Also, Lloyd. I also like our album [laughs].”

When do you think you’ll know it’s time to retire?
“I think that’s a personal opinion. As long as you’re having fun and still doing stuff, it doesn’t matter what other people think.”

Who’s the coolest person you’ve ever met?
“I just don’t ever look at people that way. With everybody that I’ve met, there’s always been something I’ve learned about them that I like. You just need to look at everybody and realize that everybody has some good in them. I never really am in awe of people because we are just equal at the end of the day.”

The Backstreet Boys are not every music fan's cup of tea, but, simply put, this album consists of one beautiful pop song after another. The incomparably lush harmonies and instantly pleasing melodies are a bit overwhelming when taken as a complete album, so the group remains at its best as a singles band. The good news is that every one of these songs is radio friendly. As Timbaland tops the pop singles chart with the unapologetic adult contemporary sound of "Apologize," it's time for radio programmers to welcome the Boys back.

As the Backstreet Boys release their comeback album Unbreakable, NW chats to baby — but best known of the group — Nick Carter You've lost one of your members, Kevin Richardson, who quit last year. Was it hard to go into the studio without him?
- It was definitely a little weird at first — after 14 years of being in the same band, it's just kind of a shocker. But we got past that. In reality there are no hard feelings and it's one of those things where we've just got to move on. And I don't know if you've looked at the music in depth, but it still feels like the Backstreet Boys, you know.

Is it true that former *Nsync star J.C. Chasez wrote some songs for the new album?
- Well, no, he wrote one song. He and A.J. [McLean] wrote a song together and we liked it, so we decided to record it.

Hi, Nick. We see you're a member down these days. How has the dynamic changed since Kevin left the band?
- It hasn't changed so much but, as Kevin was the oldest, he'd often make the decisions, so now we all make them equally.

Did you all feel like calling it a day when he left?
- No. We were all disappointed because we're like brothers, and we knew we'd miss him. But we were raring to go with the new album, so we weren't giving up.

Do you ever feel a bit old to be in a boyband now?
- Well, I'm only 27, so not really! As long as the fans want us, we'll be around, and right now it's all good.

After House Of Carters, would you ever consider doing another reality show?
- Never say never, but I'm happy in the band right now.

You've lost a lot of weight recently – how did you do it?
- Just eating right and working out! It's simple, really.

How much did you lose and do you want to lose more?
- I want to lose a little more, but I'm nearly there. I lost about 30lbs.

Did you feel sorry for your ex, Paris Hilton, when she got sent to jail, or did she get what she deserved?
- I felt sorry for her, but if you do the crime, you gotta do the time.

Firm but fair. What advice do you have for Britney?
- She's still got it. I'd just say to work hard and keep out of touble.

What saved you from going off the rails?
- I suppose the people around me, and having the guys. Like I said, we're like brothers, so they look out for me.

When will you be getting married and having kids?
- A few years down the line – but I'm definitely not ready to settle down yet. I'm still young!

What's your least favourite of your various looks from back in the day?
- There have been a few! I have to say, looking back, being overweight was the worst.
