Remember when Kellie Pickler and I had it out on air!?!? Who would have thought we’d EVER be friends! Then when Nick Carter and I ended up on Perez Hilton’s web gossip blog with a not so great story? Well, who would have ever thought all three of us would end up together–and on stage singin Madonna’s “Like A Virgin”!!!

Nick is now sober and I couldn’t be more proud of the little fella! He had nothin’ but shots of water and sprite all night long! Even when I tried to see if he’d fall off the wagon!

Condolences to the Dorough Family

We take this moment of silence to pray for Howie's father who joined our Creator in the morning of June 22, 2008. To all the family and friends he left behind, we wish you love and God's guidance to get through this difficult time in your life.


Obituary
DOROUGH, HOKE DWAINE 69, passed away June 22, 2008, in Rockledge, FL, from cancer complications. Born November 11, 1938, in Cordele, GA, he was a longtime resident of Orlando, FL, and moved several years ago to his recent residence in Merritt Island, FL. A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Hoke loved water activities: fishing, boating, and BBQs with family. A former member of the U.S. Army, Hoke held a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Rollins College. He spent almost 20 years as a police officer of the City of Orlando where he retired as a Sergeant. He was also a retired Orange County Code Enforcement Officer. His memberships included Our Saviour's Catholic Church, Cocoa Beach, FL; the Orlando Masonic Lodge; Orlando Police Department Retiree's Association and the Dorough Lupus Foundation and Support Group. He was preceded in death by his daughter Caroline Y. Cochran. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Paula Flores Dorough; daughters Angelia M. Herring of Palm Bay, FL, and Pollyanna Dorough of Orlando, FL; sons John D. Dorough and wife Shayna of Winter Park, FL, and Howard D. Dorough and wife Leigh of Cape Canaveral, FL and Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and step-sister Anna Mae Wright. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, 6-8PM, at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 101 N. Brevard Avenue, Cocoa Beach, FL. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 26, 2008, 10:30AM at Our Saviour's Catholic Church, 5301 N. Atlantic Avenue (A1A), Cocoa Beach, FL. "Angie Herring asked that I pass this message from her to all concerned. As you all know, her dad (Hoke Dorough) is battling cancer and the prognosis is not good – the reality is that he's dying. But, God has a way of doing things just right. Therefore, the family is so very thankful that he is not in very much pain, has a good appetite and is still in good spirits.

Angie is so touched by all of the emails she has received since the announcement about her father's condition went out over the internet a couple of weeks ago and wants each and everyone to know that she is not ignoring anyone. However, with all that is going on right now – she has not had much time to access the computer, however; she is trying her best to respond back to a few emails each day.

On behalf of her and the Dorough Family, she wants to thank everyone for their expressions of love, concern and prayers for her dad, Mama D and the family. It is their hope that in the time he has remaining on this Earth that he will be granted the opportunity needed to fulfill some of his dreams and last wishes.

Backstreet Boys Tour with Sennheiser Wireless Systems

The Backstreet Boys are currently on their Unbreakable Tour using Sennheiser SKM 565 G2 wireless handheld mics, along with Sennheiser ew 300 IEM G2 personal monitoring systems. Monitor engineer Doug Deems found that the SKM 565 G2, an ME 865 super-cardioid condenser capsule atop the SKM 500 RF handheld, was the overall best fit for the group.

"I wanted everybody on the same capsule," Deems says. "That was my main goal: to find something that they all sounded good with, and the ME 865 just sounds amazing on all four of them. It just jumped out." For the Unbreakable Tour, the Backstreet Boys have had the vocal mics customized with a black gloss finish and gold windscreens, says Deems.

Sun City Backstreet Boys blow

The Backstreet Boys, who were billed to perform at Sun City's Positive Rock concert at the weekend, have pulled out.

They will be replaced by R&B superstar and Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland.

Apparently, the father of Backstreet Boys member Howie is seriously ill.

The Backstreet Boys were scheduled to perform on Friday night at the gala dinner.

The Backstreet Boys were also scheduled to perform on Saturday and Sunday at the Sun City Super Bowl.

Due to Howie's father's medical condition, the Boys have decided to be with him at this very important time and hope to come to South Africa soon to perform with all four members for their first time in their country.
