Carter: 'Backstreetboys aren't dead'
BACKSTREET BOYS star NICK CARTER insists the pioneering boy band will not be splitting up, despite singer KEVIN RICHARDSON's decision to quit. And the blonde pop pin-up insists Richardson's departure might not be permanent - and he'll always be welcomed back with open arms. He tells MTV News, "All we can do is be supportive in any decisions that any of us make. "We still want to be able to do records and there are fans out there that want to hear our music, and we're going to push on. But the door is always open for him. If he wants to come back to perform again, he can. We respect his decision." Carter also revealed that the next Backstreet Boys album could feature a solo track from each of the four remaining bandmates. He adds, "Times have changed, and we're trying to adapt and trying to get a grip on things. We love what we do, we love the music we've done, and obviously we're still going with it and still moving on."

Oh Brother (and Sister and Brother. . .)
    -------------------------
I barely had arrived in this land of celebs and my ears were still sensitive from the flight from San Antonio when I got a rude awakening: famous siblings bickering at each other about dog poop. No kidding. The E! network has decided to capture the reunion of Nick Carter of "Backstreet Boys" fame, his recording star brother, Aaron, and their three sisters under one roof and turn the cameras on them. Seems they had a dysfunctional childhood and Nick, the oldest, wanted to make up for that by bringing the whole clan closer together...with television cameras blazing. How sweet, how intimate...OK, OK.

The reality show will be called "The House of Carters" and will debut on E! in October. If one argument among the five is any indication of the fun ahead, well, uh, I can't wait. When one critic wondered if there were any house rules, the siblings started hissing at each other.

"You want us to clean up after you and to clean up after your dog," sis Leslie snarled at Nick. She then accused him of having a "bossy dad" mentality and reiterated: "I don't want to clean up your dog poop!"

"Well, you have a cat," countered Aaron. "I know," she said, "and it goes in one place."

This, believe it or not, went on for a while.

Groan, it certainly made me long for the show that started all this, "The Osbournes," and the mumbling and the shuffling, even the pill-popping. At least that was on the quiet side.

07.16.06: Added Individual Video in NCC Store!
+ Hi Guys, I've added a few videos in this site's store. I'll be adding more in the coming week so check back often. I'm so happy to all the people who ordered a bulk and I said, they were in a bulk CD huh? I guess the spirit of the Backstreetboys are still here, Filipinos loved them so much so if ever one of you Bacsktreet is readin this...Plz come back to Manila!

A fan asked me this question so I wanted to answer it briefly...
What do you think why Kevin leave the group?
+ Well, First off its all Kevin's decision and like Nick said its something they can't force him to do, Kevin is just a normal person who feels to do something different outside the Backstreet world but like he said, Nick, Alex, Bri and Howard were still his brothers so whatever happens he will always be part of them. I think Kevin wanted to have his own family and his own business, these were things that WE are expecting him to do someday right? Brian had Baylee and why would we stop Kevin from having his own lil guy too right? I understand why he left and my support will always be here for him and for The Backstreetboys, so for all the fans out there... Don't be sad nor cry, I believe Kevin will be back soon.!

07.13.06: The House of Carter's New Presson pic and News Article!

    Welcome Back Carter's
Did you have a troubled childhood?

Is your family a dysfunctional mess?

Where better to sort it all out than in front of millions of people on TV!

That seems to be the trend this press tour.

Monday, Danny Bonaduce and Shannen Doherty were at the press tour turning their gossip column troubles into cable TV shows. On Tuesday, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and his younger brother Aaron were on hand to promote House Of Carters, a new Osbornes-like series premiering this fall on E! Entertainment.

The eight-part reality series spies on the pair plus their three female siblings — Leslie (who was trying to launch a singing career in Toronto), Angel and Bobbie Jean — as they escape the clutches of their estranged parents and all live together in Nick's California home. Think of it as Party Of Five Damaged Kids.

Nick, 26, insists he was no father figure, more of a big brother (with unlimited credit).

He calls his parents "selfish" and suggests they were too focused on pushing his brother and him into showbusiness. Nick was 12 when he began singing with the Backstreet Boys.

Aaron's career began at age seven.

Their parents' divorce tore the family apart, with one sister living with mom and the others with dad.

So why is getting back together under one roof a good idea for a TV show?

"We came from a lot of fighting and stuff like that, so the only way we knew to communicate was to fight and to be, you know, very loud," says Nick.

Apparently that will be hugely entertaining.

'House of Carters' Will Feature Their Wild And Wacky Family

Can there be a reality show with a more dysfunctional family than — say — the Osbournes? Oh yes there can!
That show is "House of Carters" featuring Backstreet Boy Nick Carter's wild and wacky family, which premieres on E! in October.
In the weekly series, Nick invites his younger brother Aaron and their three sisters to move in to one house and try to become a family again.
Big brother Nick sees it as his job to help his younger siblings form strong bonds and help each other pursue their professional and personal dreams.

The Carters' legal battles have been tabloid fodder for years. Their parent's contentious divorce, Nick's arrest for driving under the influence, Bobbie Jean's arrest for assault and Aaron's petition for legal emancipation from his manager/mother (which he later withdrew) are just some of the stories that have made headlines.
Then there's the ladies in the boys' lives. Nick Carter dated Paris Hilton in 2003. Aaron dated both Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff, sparking rumors of a feud between the two teen starlets.
Aaron is best known as a heartthrob for the 12-and-under set who sold more than 1.5 million copies of his 2000 album "Aaron's Party." His challenge now is reviving his music career as a young adult.
Leslie is a singer who has been living in Toronto with her boyfriend, the drummer for her band. She's been away from the family for some time, so moving in with her brothers and sisters should be interesting.

Angel is Aaron's twin sister and best friend. She wants to become a model and plans to eventually move to the west coast.
Bobbie Jean isn't so sure about her future, although she has shown interest in studying for a culinary career.
Will the siblings pull together and stay out of trouble long enough to achieve their dreams? You'll have to tune in to the show to find out.

    Nick, Aaron and Family

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter maintains that he's not the father to his four younger siblings in "House of Carters." The reality series puts the five Carters, including pop star Aaron, under the same roof.

"We've come from a broken family that's been in the spotlight," Nick said Tuesday. "I think to connect to my family better would be to be the big brother, to not be a father figure."

After all, all five Carters are adults: Nick is 26. Bobbie Jean, who is 24, has no interest in show business and wants a career in cooking. Leslie, 19, is striving for a music career. Angel, who is 18 and Aaron's twin, hopes to be a model.

"House of Carters" debuts in October on E! Entertainment. The Carters promoted the series to TV critics who are in Pasadena, Calif., to preview the fall lineup. Being in front of the cameras is no sweat for the Carters.

"Their whole lives have been before the public eye," said executive producer Kenneth Crear, who manages Nick and Aaron.

The Carters' divorced parents, Robert and Jane, will be a recurring topic on the show. Robert has remarried to a younger woman. Nick said the parents made the sons' careers the family's priority, shortchanging the three daughters. Bobbie Jean and Leslie said the parents had put the children through a lot at early ages. Nick said a TV show was "the only way" to explain the Carters' story.

So, I wanted to know, how much will they discuss their parents on the show?
"The reality of the situation is we can't not talk about them," Nick said.
"Mom doesn't want to be involved, but she feels like she deserves something, and that kind of can make us feel guilty for things that we really shouldn't feel guilty for," Leslie said.
"But we don't feel guilty anymore," Angel added.
Nick said his priority is helping his siblings deal with their issues.
"As much as we love our parents, as much as we want to be with them, there's a time in your life when you have to take a step back and care about yourself," Nick said. "I realize that, but they don't realize that yet."

In reassembling his siblings for the show, Nick said he's "picking up the pieces" and "trying to put a puzzle back together."

"The whole divorce rate is, like, ridiculous now, and it's affecting children," Nick said. "So I feel like it's kind of odd how none of us got married. We had boyfriends, girlfriends, but we never really wanted to separate from each other, because when we were in the household, and we were going through these problems ..."

    Leslie interrupted: "We came together."
And Nick added: "It was the five of us."
Thanks to television, the five will be together again.

E! Pool Side Party, a different Carter Family

When E! presented its panel earlier in the day, everyone was spent because Dan Rather and Mark Cuban had just held court and all things considered on this second day, that was pretty interesting. So presenting "House of Carters," about 26-year-old Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, his pop star brother Aaron and their three sisters living together ala "The Osbournes" was a considerable letdown. Normally I'd skip something like that but I have friends at E! and I like the channel's leader, Ted Harbert, so I showed up. In the end, I was glad I did because the Carter family is a lot more screwed up than I knew about. I don't follow boy-band machinations and very rarely partake in that kind of People magazine celebrity thing but hey, the Carter parents did a real number on the kids. Why the five siblings want to be on a reality show, I have no idea (well, yes I do, but isn't it so obvious as to go unspoken?). Anyway, they talked over each other a whole bunch and Nick Carter seemed particularly angry and it was all very dramatically dysfunctional so who knows, if you're bored it might fill the time. 07.09.06: Nick and Brew | New Layout!

Nick is no longer assosiated with the movie "Brew". There has been a lot of rumours about this project over the past few years, and in the beginning of the project, he was listed as a cast member. But with the recent death of one of the film's writers, along with several director changes, production of the film has been put back for years. Recent news tells us that the film got a new director, but none of the original cast members are now part of the project. Stephen Brooks is taking over the director's chair after James Dean Schulte's untimely passing. The old cast and companies associated with the project are said to no longer be involved and casting is underway shortly.

07.05.06: Backstreet Boys Moving Ahead Following Richardson's Departure

Following the departure of Kevin Richardson over the weekend, the Backstreet Boys are plowing ahead with sessions for their upcoming album, which member Brian Littrell says they hope to have out later this year.

"[The sessions] started yesterday, actually," Littrell said on Monday, less than 48 hours after the group announced that original member Richardson, 33, was leaving to pursue unspecified "other interests". Littrell said he and the group's other members — Howie Dorough, Nick Carter and A.J. McLean — began work on the first two songs for the yet-untitled follow-up to last year's Never Gone. "We're in the process of trying to put this record together for a fourth-quarter release, so we're excited about it."

Littrell said the Boys started talking about heading right back into the studio about midway through the Never Gone tour, which ended earlier this year. "The Backstreet Boys audience has been loyal and continued to support us as a group and we're very appreciative of that," he said. "During the middle of the tour we were talking about getting back in the studio and making another record and not having another four-year downtime between CDs.

"I was the first one in the studio just yesterday, actually," he continued, "working on Sunday, trying to get my vocals in, because in two days I have to head to Montreal and Toronto and start press and promotion for the Canadian campaign for my solo CD." Littrell issued a Christian-music album, Welcome Home, in early May.

Despite his excitement over getting to work on the Boys' seventh album, Littrell said the departure of his cousin Richardson is taking its toll. "Personally, Kevin is my blood," he said. "Kevin got me in the group almost 14 years ago. I'm a little sad to see him leave, and I'm sure some of the fans are a little sad. But I'm very happy for him and very supportive of him personally and businesswise and I hope he's successful in any endeavor that he plans on moving forward with his life."

Richardson, 33, hasn't spoken about the other endeavors he wants to pursue outside the multiplatinum group, and Littrell didn't shed much light on what the future holds for his cousin, either.

"During the Never Gone tour Kevin had kind of relayed his personal thoughts and his individual aspirations, personally and businesswise, things that he wants to further accomplish in his life, " Littrell explained. "And he's the oldest member of the group and he's just at a different place in his life. There is no bad blood whatsoever."

07.02.06: Richardson Splits From Backstreet Boys

The Backstreet Boys are saying goodbye to the oldest member of their band, according to a statement posted on the group's Web site Saturday.

Kevin Richardson, 33, said he was leaving to purse other interests.

"It was a very tough decision for me but one that was necessary in order to move on with the next chapter of my life," Richardson said in the statement.

The Orlando-based pop band ushered in a new teen-music craze in the late 90's, buoyed by their soulful harmonies, synchronized dance steps, clean-cut good looks and charm. Their three albums sold a total of more than 35 million copies.

The group took a hiatus in 2001 after A.J. McLean's highly publicized entry into rehab forced the band to postpone their "Black & Blue" tour. They reunited to release the album "Never Gone" in 2005.

The remaining members, McLean, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, and Brian Littrell, said they had no plans to replace Richardson.

"The door will always be open for him to return to the Backstreet Boys. We wish him the all the best in his future endeavors," they said on the band's Web site.

The group plans to return to the studio this weekend to begin work on their next album, which is due later this year.

Calls and an e-mail sent to the group's publicist, Sonia Muckle, were not immediately returned to The Associated Press on Saturday.
