Carter and Hilton have been dating for just a month, but are clear that if they ever do walk down the aisle together, they'll never repeat the pop beauty's controversial union to pal Jason Alexander. Hilton says, "Vegas is bad luck." Carter adds, "That's for Britney!"

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter received an unusual gift from girlfriend Paris Hilton for his 24th birthday -- a cake with her picture on it. The 22-year-old hotel heiress threw a surprise party for the pop hunk on January 28 -- the day after their one-month anniversary together -- where she gave him cashmere sweaters and "Finding Nemo" stuffed animals.Hilton says, "I made him eggs, French toast and Cookie Crisp cereal -- our favorite!" Later, she showed up at Carter's Los Angeles recording studio with the picture-emblazoned cake. A grateful Carter beams, "She just has a great heart."

#1 Paris Throws a Surprise Party

Paris Hilton, half of the "IT" couple of the moment, threw her Backstreet Boy boyfriend Nick Carter a surprise birthday party at the recording studio where he and the band are laboring on their much-anticipated next album. ET was on hand to find out how she spoiled him on his big day!
"I made him breakfast and then he opened his gifts," she revealed to ET while waiting for Nick to arrive. "I made him eggs, French toast ... and Cookie Crisp cereal, because that's our favorite."
And what about those ever-important presents? "I got him a lot of gifts, so many clothes... I'm his new stylist!" Paris also surprised him with something very unexpected. "Toys! Because he loves the movie 'Finding Nemo,' I got him every single one of the stuffed animals."
When the astonished Nick walked in, he was greeted by his bandmates and his best gal, who had a $150 cake made for him decorated with a picture of who else -- herself! He blew out his 24 candles and told ET he was totally taken off-guard. "I'm like, 'What in the world?' when I walked in here."
Nick, who just started recording again with his mega successful group, said it took some time to get back in the groove of things. "The first day was a little weird because it's been three years since I've been in the studio with them. The second day was great, and now it's the third day and we're back in the saddle."
And does super-socialite Paris plan to make an appearance on the album? "She's there for support, I love her," Nick gushed. "She's been there through a lot of stuff. When it comes to guys, Paris Hilton has a short attention span. But is Nick Carter more than just the flavor of the month?
There were stars, screeenings and freebies galore, but at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, Paris Hilton only had eyes for new boyfriend, Nick Carter, 24.
"He's just the sweetest guy." The 22-year-old star of the Simple Life told Us while snuggled in the Backstreet Boy's lap at a party on January 19. "He sends me little notes and flowers all the time."
"Roses" Carter chimed in. "I like to send her roses." It had only been about a month since the pair had been set up by an acquaintance, said Hilton, "and we've been together as much as possible ever since!"
The beginning of a lasting romance? With Hilton, it's hard to say. "Paris is in love with being in love," Trae Lindley, 18, the Univeristy of Arkansas student who dated her while she was filming The Simple Life in Altus, Arkansas last spring, tells Us. "Because I was one out of a 100, I knew it wasn't going to last." Indeed. In the past year alone, Hilton has dated model Jason Shaw, Sum 41 frontamn Deryck Whitby, Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher and Australian Idol finalist Robert Mills.
Not that she's beyond a little troublemaking. Four days after Carter was introducing her as his girlfriend at the Gresh Agency party at Sundace, Hilton was spotted in LA, dirty-dancing with Shaw. "They were totally into eachother," an eyewitness says. "They were inseparable." Then, according to a witness at two Golden Globe after-parties on January 25, Hilton briefly ditched Carter to chat with Nicholas Cage, 40. At one point the actor and the heiress were holding hands and whispering into each other's ears. "Nick [Carter] kept making faces at them," says a partygoer. "He was furious!" (Last March Hilton told Hot Stuff that Cage's ex wife, Lisa Marie Presley, 36, threw a drink at her because, in Hilton's words,"She thinks I f--ked Nic Cage!" Presley's rep denied it happened) Later, depsite peacekeeping efforts by Paris's sister, Nicky, 20, Carter stormed off. "Nicky had to go calm him down," says another revealer.
Carter's hurt feelings are understandable. "He told me he's falling in love," his dad Robert Carter tells Us. "He said, 'Dad I got that tingly feeling. You always said someday someone's going to get ahold of me.'" His little brother, Aaron, 16, also a singer isn't so sure. "He's going to have himself a good little time," he tells Us. "Nick's not the kind of person who stays with someone for more than a couple of years." But will Hilton still love him tomorrow? Stay tuned.......

According to Nick's mom, Jane, Hilton once confronted Aaron Carter's ex-girlfriend Lindsay Lohan, 17, after she spotted Lohan talking to Nick, telling her to "stay away from him." Adds Jane, "He likes that she gets jealous." Of course two can play at that game.
