The Split-up
From: Alicia Crawford
Nick had a new (male) bass player the other night, fueling speculation that he and Alicia had parted ways.
Her official statement has apparently just been released:
For those people wanting to know why I wasn't present at the Kansas show yesterday here is the
reason why. On Monday Nick and I mutually decided to part ways. Both of us have always wanted
nothing than for the other to be happy. For me that meant coming home and getting my wedding
planned. Getting married is a huge thing for me and Duane and we want to concentrate all of our efforts
on that. I had a blast being able to have the oppertunity to play with Nick over the past 6 months. I learned
so much about myself and was able to do so many things that I had only dreamed of. He will never know
just how grateful I am he called me back in June. And on top of that I got to meet some of the greatest
people, his fans, who have supported him not just through Backstreet, but now also with his solo
career. You guys are great and I've enjoyed getting to know all of you. With this being said, I wish Nick
nothing but the best with his solo career. He's wanted this for so long and he deserves it. For me I don't
know what God holds in the future, but I know this will not be the end of music for me. Thanks so much
for all your support I will miss you guys.
God Bless,
Alicia Crawford

Hey everyone, I have some rather sad news. I have been fired from Nick's band. I'm not sure
I understand the reasons so much, but I am very disappointed and sad that this would happen after
all we have been through. Just know that I think you are all the sweetest most amazing people in the
world and I am so glad I had a chance to talk to and meet every single one of you. I am going to be
starting my own career as a singer/songwriter. If you would like to support me in this new leg of my
musical career, you can go to www.danielbmarshall.com, which will be up and running in just a few
days. I will have a CD you can buy on there with twelve songs that I wrote and performed along with
Alicia from Nick's band. Once again, I'm so sorry I have to leave, and I will miss you all. Please continue
to email me and let me know what you are thinking. I may not always get to write back, but your words
affected my life in tremendous ways when I read such sweet emails. Thank you and God bless you all.
in Christ,
Daniel B. Marshall
