The Brew: Nick's First Solo Movie (Cancelled)
BREW
>>Synopsis
Ian Brauer is thrilled to learn that he is the heir to the estate of his long-lost aunt. But then he finds out
that what he's inherited -- the decrepit Thebes Brewery. Closed for decades, the brewery has
amassed $200,000 in debt from back taxes and IRS penalties -- an amount that is now Ian's
responsibility. Faced with a mountain of debt, he decides that his only option is to clean up the
brewery and sell it. Heading off to visit his 'inheritance'; Ian's girlfriend
Scarlett, his cynical best friend Jay, stoner Drew and uptight Kiwi join him. The plan is to clean
the place up, get it operational, and sell it by the end of the summer.
Seeing the brewery for the first time, they know immediately that it's not going to be easy. The facility
is over a hundred years old, and is a maze of twisting, dusty corridors. Ian and his friends explore it,
soon joined by Dante, the charismatic and egotistical "brewmeister" that Ian has hired
to help them get the place running, and the beer flowing. To this artisan, brewing is an art form,
and this boutique micro-brewery’s collection of equipment represents a trove of classical tools!
Little do they know that a deadly evil lurks deep within the brewery: Ian's supposedly long-dead
relatives, Luther and his maniacal children Agnes, Rolf and Marius Brauer. They have been locked
away for over a century, surviving on a magical beer, a “fountain-of-youth” concoction
made from human blood. As in any type of brewing, the final product is only as good as the ingredients.
Decades of a diet of an inferior lager, brewed from vagrants, junkies, and rats has left them in a
somewhat decrepit state!
Set loose in a 21st century world, these 19th century ghouls set out to regain their strength by turning
Ian and his friends into a quality “lager”! Our heroes must battle to defeat these
monsters and escape the chamber of horrors.
Returning with a project that captures the same manic energy as his horror classic
THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, Tobe Hooper brings, in BREW, a campy/over-the-top
horror film with strong comic tones to it. The film has the manic energy of his best films and is a fun
ride, not taking itself too seriously, and has all the makings of a cult classic horror romp. Its twisted,
but undeniably hilarious black comedy will entertain all fans of the genre. With Tobe in production
on THE TOOLBOX MURDERS, and the recent studio remake of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE,
BREW will benefit enormously from the resurgence of interest in Tobe Hooper's creative genius.
BREW will feature a cast that has collaborated on his previous work, as well as rising newcomers.

Message from the Creator
Hey, guys and girls. Brew is a tale about ambition and love and the living dead.
A young college grad, possibly Nick Carter, inherits an old brewery. He also inherits a hefty
tax bill, so tries to fix it up, but comes across his long thought dead ancestors, who have
been secretly living in the caverns under the brewery, subsisting on beer made from
blood of animals and vagrants who wander into the place. They see the new owners
as interlopers, and come up to drive them out. The idea came from the real life Lemp Brewery,
which is supposedly haunted by the four members of the Lemp family who committed suicide.
While operating a commercial haunted house there, my staff had several run-ins with things that
went bump in the dark, and a ghost dog that led us on a hairy chase into the caverns that
reach five stories hunderground. I think you might be surprised at the level of this film.
It's funny as well as scary, but its the kind of laugh when youre trying to convince yourself
what's happening just can't be happeining. Hope you all tune in to see it. In the hands of
Tobe Hooper, expect all to not be as it first appears. And the cast should truly rock.
