It's certainly a day for celebration in the small town of Lexington, Kentucky. One of their own, Kevin Richardson has written a song without the help of hired writers. Such a thing has never been done by a boyband member. It will surely go down in the Genius book of world records, right next to Aaron Carter's record of "Youngest person to write a song with the help of 6 other people."
This is Richardson's second solo in the vast 7 years of his career. "I'm very excited." Richardson responded very monotoniously.
"He's My Cousin" was recorded at Cheiron studios. Kevin plays the simple 3 chord tune on piano as fellow Backstreet Boy Nick Carter strums along on Harmonica (which didn't sound too good, considering you blow into a harmonica rather than strum it. No one corrected 200 lb Carter, for fear of being sat on.)
The new single is set to be released November 1, 2000. Here's a sneak preview.
He's my cousin
I've known him all my life
He's my cousin
Some think he'll be my wife
Yes, we are engaged
But not to each other
He's my cousin
Nick and Howie are lovers
