Howie's first and original hairstyle from his debut as a BSB - simple and thick. Note the little tuft of hair on his forehead. Give it 10 + years, fame and money and watch it undergo some pretty heavy-duty hairstyling. |

-1995 I dunno what else to call this hair except that it looks sort of Frankensteinish - see how it's straight across the forehead and all? I thought Howie looked so young and cute in the Get Down video! Hee hee! |

-1997 As you can see, Howie loses the sleekness and goes for the loose 'n curly look. You can see an excellent example of this hairstyle by watching the QPG music video - the rain that drips down all over his luminescent body also causes his hair curl. I think. I dunno. I'm too distracted watching - erm - his torso to be sure. |

-1998 (?) I believe this was the stage where Howie was in the process of growing out his hair. I rather like it! Really emphasizes those Latino roots, don't you think? You might also see pictures during this year where Howie's hair is completely slicked back into a teeny little ponytail. |

-2000 The first real hair drastic hair change. It is very interesting what a pencil-line beard can do for you. Howie suddenly looks much more manly, older, and mysterious. Again we have the teeny little ponytail in the back. The Millennium Howie looks noticeably more moody ... and serious ... and dangerous ... |

Late 2000 - 2001 Howie's hair varied between two main styles during the Black & Blue era. The first and most memorable was the ironed "Jesus" look, which was sometimes accompanied by the facial hair. His hair was also a lighter brown - check out them highlights! I have to admit it, though - this is one of my least favorite styles. It makes him look kinda creepy. I mean if you met him in a dark alley, wouldn't you be freaked out? |

The second style was the long curly hair - and I wonder, is Howie's hair naturally this curly? If it isn't, then how did he get it to be so curly? Hee hee! Howie, you're killing me with that face! |

Here we have the "Bon Jovi" cut (as named by Nick). Personally, I think the more hair Howie has, the better he looks. (IF it's thick - man, his Jesus hair was such an eyesore.) We can see his hair in the process of evolving into a more visually pleasing style. |

-2004 This has been by far one of my most favorite haircuts - it looks natural, fits him perfectly, and has depth - I mean if you were to poke your finger in his hair it would travel for some time before reaching his scalp. |

-2006 Yes, there is actually a distinction between the two hairstyles! As you can see, Howie's Never Gone hair is less plentiful and bountiful here. But it doesn't stop! ... somehow, his hair SHRINKS by the next phase! |

Late 2006-2007 Why does his hair get shorter and shorter? Is he losing hair (à la AJ?) Nooo!! He needs to grow out nice, thick, full, voluminous head of hair by release of the next album! |

-2008 You can tell here that Howie's taken some advice from AJ and started growing a fauxhawk. Actually, I think each of the boys has worn this look at some point during Unbreakable. |

-Present Because Howie has not produced a significant change in hair between albums, we here at Livin Large believe Sweet D has found a look that is to stay stable for years to come. It is probably best for the baby - wouldn't want to scare it. |
